Über diesen Ort: Meoto-iwa Vermählte Felsen
Meoto Iwa („Eheleutefelsen") sind zwei unterschiedlich große Felsen vor dem Futami-Okitama-Schrein. Durch ein heiliges Seil verbunden, symbolisieren sie eheliche Harmonie. Nur nahe der Sommersonnenwende geht die Sonne zwischen ihnen auf – ein begehrtes Motiv.
