About this location: Matsumoto Castle
Matsumoto Castle in Nagano City is a National Treasure and one of Japan's 12 surviving original keeps. Its jet-black walls have earned the nickname «Crow Castle.» The five-tier, six-story keep evokes Sengoku-era grandeur. The white ridges of the Northern Alps behind it, mirror-still inner moat, and cherry blossoms / fresh greens / autumn leaves / snow give it four-season beauty.
