Kebun Binatang Higashiyama, dibuka tahun 1937 di Nagoya, mendapat ketenaran nasional melalui gorila dataran rendah barat «Shabani» yang dijuluki «terlalu tampan». Kandang berlampu alami dan pameran luas cocok untuk fotografi satwa liar. Padukan dengan Kebun Raya Higashiyama.
