Furano, nel Hokkaido centrale, è famosa per i suoi campi di lavanda centrati sulla Fattoria Tomita. Metà-fine luglio è il picco di fioritura, quando il tappeto purpureo sul cielo azzurro crea una delle scene più pittoriche del Giappone.
