De steegjes rondom Kiyomizu-dera — Ninenzaka, Sannenzaka en Kiyomizuzaka — zijn geplaveide straten met traditionele stadshuizen, aangewezen als Belangrijke Preservatiedistrict. Het uitzicht met de Yasaka-pagode (Hokan-ji) op de achtergrond is een klassieke Kyoto-compositie. Het beste bij dageraad.

- Nene-no-Michi — a stone-paved path leading to Kodai-ji, named for Nene (wife of Toyotomi Hideyoshi), popular for kimono dressing experiences
